No Money, No Problems
I was thinking back to my younger days, when $5 was a lot of money to have in my pocket but I was always quick to spend it on some candy (I’ve never been good at saving). No worries and always something to do, even when there was absolutely nothing to do. Me and my friends would jump on our bikes and just ride, or sit outside doing nothing and it was always so much fun. Whatever happened to those days? It seems like the older you get, the less there is to do, and when there is something to do, it requires money. What happened to just having fun?
Now don’t get me wrong, my friends and I do have the occasional spurts of carefree fun days when we’ll go to the park and play on the swings like we’re tweens again, but it’s rare.
I miss those days. The good old days.

I second everything you said.
I am not good at saving either. Even when I was little as well. I remember when all I’d get was a quarter or fifty cents and I’d run to the corner store and buy me a pocket full of gummy worms! Those were my favorite! Back in the day when you could buy a hand full of different types of candy with a quarter. Nowdays you gotta give a kid at LEAST 2 dollars to buy anything good… LOL
Ahhh… I miss the 80’s!

I actually think of those childhood years quite often…time also went by slower then.
It’s funny your theme looks like a Victoria Secret store I passed by today..I’m guessing you did it on purpose.

That post made me feel somewhat melancholic. Surely, it’s true that the older you get, the more expensive everything seems, but I never really had the feeling my friends and I cannot do something just for fun anymore. We can still hang around after school, doing approximately nothing for hours until it’s time to do the feared homework. However, whenever we go out for real (not just hanging around) I also noticed the expensiveness of everything. But children have this sort of totally carefree attitude that adults or nearly adult people cannot realy have anymore, I suppose.

girl. who you telling? i’m forever thinking about those days. those were the best days of my life. everything was so simple back then. so much more fun. less stressful. the only thing we had to worry about was taking tests and homework. LOL. * sigh * as we grow older we have more responsibilities and less time to do the things that we used to do.
